Ever since I was young, I dreamed of owning my own business but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would own a hair salon. I'm one of those individuals who graduated from college and worked for corporate Amercia for over 20 years. I did what every young urban professional does, worked the 60 to 80 hours a week to move up the corporate ladder. Then one day I woke up from my nightmare and decided to pursue my dream. I left corporate America in 2007 and started "Simply Eventful, LLC", an event planning business.
In March 2008, I bought "The Hair Loft of Avon". My 20 plus years working in Human Resources has prepared me to become successful in this endeavor. My husband and business partner Chris Mocciae and I really enjoy the beauty industry and are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We are very proud of the business, the team and the culture we have built at The Hair Loft!
Rachel Bastille
Rachel has over 10 years’ experience in the Farmington Valley. She has done very creative avant-garde hair designs for runway and print media. She specializes in bridal hair design. Her clean, smooth and elegant hair designs are truly a work of art. Rachel also heads up our Wedding Hair and Makeup team. Brides love her outgoing, patient and easy-going personality. She truly enjoys working with brides and being part of their special day. Rachel also enjoys creating the latest hair designs and is extremely passionate about her color work and precision haircutting techniques. She loves to do hand painting Balayage, highlights, babylights, full color and even adding hair extensions to enhance the look of any haircut and style. Customers of the salon love the quality of her work, her vivacious personality and her attention to detail. Rachel is our in-salon Extension specialist and is Brazilian Blowout Certified.
Vicktoria Simone
For Vicktoria, hair is art. She enjoys working with all varieties of hair types and styles, and thinks of her customer/s as a canvas - an opportunity to create a style and look that is both timeless and trend-setting.
Vicktoria is fun and enthusiastic, and has been working professionally for over 21 years. Her specialties are color, highlights, corrective color, bridal & special-occasion hair designs and especially eyebrow shaping. She is by far the best on this side of the river when it comes to taming & shaping brows. By day you will find Vicktoria working in orthopedic medicine as a Medical Assistant and at night doing hair. In her spare time you can find her fishing, enjoying the flavors of cooking and spending time with her boys (Chihuahua’s) Louis and Taco.
Kelly Gaudette
Kelly went into this industry for the love of making people feel good about themselves by creating their perfect look. She loves working with the customer from the consultation, color placement, haircut and finishing. But she won’t stop there. She will teach you how to maintain your new or current hairstyle well after you leave the Salon. This is what keeps people coming back.
Jaelene Ruey
Jaelene has had extensive training in formal occasion styling, airbrush and multimedia make-up. She is certified in hair extensions and Novalash eye lash extensions. Many customers rave about her Blowouts, Cut/Color, Highlights, Balayage, Ombre/Sombre’s. However, working with Brides is her passion. She does both Hair and Makeup for brides. She states that "My love of the beauty industry shows my own personal fashion and style". She can create a very natural to a very dramatic look depending on the individual’s personal style. Jaelene is a wonderful addition to our Wedding Hair and Makeup team.
Barbara Coppinger
Barbara has been an integral member of the Hair Loft for the past 9+ years. Her cheerful greetings lend a hand in welcoming customers to the salon, while her spirited nature makes everyone feel at ease. There is nothing Barbara hasn’t done in her life, she is our jack-of-all-trades, and can be found sailing at Lake George when she isn’t hard at work coordinating and managing daily activities for the salon.
Melissa Morgan
Melissa is a talented and passionate stylist and colorist with over 25 years of experience. She has an innate ability to listen to your needs and concerns. With Melissa’s creative ability, together she will create a look that will best reflect your individual style and personality. Her goal is to make you feel as beautiful as you look. She specializes in curly hair and making short cuts sassy and sophisticated. Her ultimate satisfaction comes from giving customers a beautiful style that makes them shine and relishes the opportunity to create dramatic change! Melissa stays at the forefront of her field with her on-going commitment to continuous education and certification. Melissa specializes in a broad range of services including multi-dimensional color techniques, Balayage, Keratins smoothing systems as well as Brazilian Blowout Certified.
